We are glad that you are interested in being a part of Woodlands Village, the children's ministry of the Woodlands church family. It is a place where we hope that you will feel right at home and find many friends who share similar goals as you do. There are so many things going on in the Village and we hope that you find just the right combination of things to help you grow closer to God and to be helpful to your whole family. As you look around this website you should find a whole load of details about ministries and events and ways that you can get into the action.
One Big Idea
If you are around Woodlands Church very long, you will hear about "building communities of Christ-centered people." This is woven into how our worship is organized, why we do small groups, and the very fabric of our different ministry endeavors. Woodlands Village is not here just to be a babysitting service, this statement is a deep part of our fabric, too. We want you to see this by the way we structure the ministries we do and in the resources we offer.
Two Sites
Woodlands Church is one church family that meets in two separate locations. We have sites in Wisconsin Rapids and in Plover. Some of the ministries that we offer are hosted by only one site while others meet at both sites. Be sure that the ministry you are investigating is one that is hosted by the site you attend. You are always welcome to join in an event or activity hosted by any site.
Three Ministries
Woodlands Village has many events and activities that happen throughout the year (check out the calendar to see if any of these happenings occur in the near future -- click here to go to the calendar). While special events come and go, there are three ministries that are of a more on-going nature and form the basis of our children's ministries. Those ministries are listed below and you can click on the icon beside each description for more information about the specific ministry.
Sunday School is our Sunday morning ministry for preschoolers and elementary and age children. There are also classes offered for junior and senior highers (click here for details about Student Ministries). The structure of the ministry varies at each site.
Awana meets on Tuesday evenings at our Plover site. It is open to 3 year olds through 6th graders and is a fun place to play and learn.
Nursery is for infants, toddlers and two year olds. It is a caring place staffed by gracious workers. It is a great place for children to have fun and discover while parents participate in worship services and classes.
