Brian Berg - Senior Pastor
Brian is a native of Central Wisconsin, and graduated from SPASH in 1972. He received his B.S. from Iowa State University in 1976, and his Master of Divinity from Trinity International University in 1981 and was ordained in 1986.
He served as a pastor in Vermont for four years, and as a missionary in Mexico City for four years before coming to Woodlands in 1990. He loves the Stevens Point area and serving at Woodlands, and hopes to remain here for many years to come.
He and Kathy were married in 1980 and have three children: Luke, Steve, and Brianna. His pastimes include tennis, biking, running, kayaking, cross country skiing and reading.
Jonathan Whitford - Executive Pastor
Jonathan grew up and lived in Rockford , Illinois for most of his life. This is where he met his wife Jane. They have three children: Noah, Luke, and Abigail. They have lived in Stevens Point and served at Woodlands since 1996.
Jonathan moved to Stevens Point from Aurora, IL where he served as the Campus Minister at Aurora University for 4 years after completing his Master of Divinity degree at Trinity International University .
When he is not at church or hanging out with his family, Jonathan enjoys Tae Kwon Do, running, lifting weights, playing the bass guitar and anything that has to do with Scotland.
John Jordens - Small Groups Pastor
John grew up on a small farm in SE Wisconsin, attended UW-Whitewater and graduated in 1991 with a degree in Physical Education. The next four years were spent in Oklahoma, Korea, Haiti and Virginia as he served as an officer in the Army. After his military obligation, God led Cheryl and John back to Wisconsin to come on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship where he served college students for the past 11 years on a variety of college campuses in Southern WI, as well as UWSP. They are grateful to call Woodlands their home and are excited to be serving on staff.
John and Cheryl were married in 1993, and have two daughters, Kristen and Allyson. John is passionate about popcorn, ice cream, running, biking, long naps, watching sports and hanging out with the family.
Doug Schneider - Local Outreach Pastor
Doug grew up in the Chicago suburbs, received his B.A. in Speech Communications from Eastern Illinois University in 1988 and graduated from the Advanced Studies Program at Moody Bible Institute in 1989 with an emphasis in Missiology. After working in Property Management and Building Material Sales, Doug served 16 ½ years with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Doug and his wife Jen were married in 1993 and have three children Micaela, Graham and Madelyn. Together with their children they have led short-term missions trips to Moscow and Mexico City. Doug has also served on short-term teams in Belgium, Central Asia and with Jen in Poland. They love to travel and visit with friends and family in their home. Doug’s hobbies include, running, football, baseball, woodworking, home improvement and fishing. Doug is passionate about seeing the love of Christ transform individuals, families and communities.
Doug Allord - Worship Arts Pastor
Doug was born and raised in Shawano, WI. Prior to joining the staff of Woodlands in January of 1999, he served for a year as the Programming Director at River Valley Community Church in Davenport, IA.
Doug received his B.A in Music from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, was ordained in the EFCA in 2007, and is married to the love of his life, Rachel.
They have two children: Elijah and Maylie.
Doug loves to travel, experience various ethnic foods, edit video, relax in good coffee shops, watch movies, read and paint.
Doug’s heart beats to see the followers of Christ worship God in Spirit, in Truth, in reverence and freedom, and to see all arts used for the glory of Christ.
Heath Erickson - Senior High Pastor
Heath was born and raised in the quaint Norwegian town of Westby, WI, where lutefisk and lefse still reign supreme.
Upon graduation Heath attended UW-Whitewater for 2 years where he met his beautiful bride-to-be Loraine.
After Loraine’s graduation from UW-W they were married and Heath transferred out to Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado where he completed his B.A. in Student Ministries in 2000. Despite their best efforts to stay out west in the mountains, God clearly led Heath back to the Badger State to minister to students in central Wisconsin.
Heath and Loraine have two adorable boys, Bode & Cooper. Outside of student ministries you’ll often see Heath with a pair of bike pedals attached to his feet, or when the snow flies a pair of skis underfoot. If you happen to see him with waders and a fly rod, duck – his passion for trout fishing is not equal to his casting skills!
Jordan Huffman - Junior High Pastor
Jordan is a native of Wisconsin. He grew up in New Berlin, a suburb of Milwaukee and graduated from high school in 1989.
He received a B.A. from UWSP in 1994, his Masters in Divinity from Trinity International University in 2004 and is awaiting confirmation for Ordination through the EFCA.
He married his beautiful wife, Erin, in 2001 and they have 2 sons,Logan and Judah. Jordan enjoys reading and fitness, walks through Schmeekle with the family and wrestling with the boys, gardening and motorcycling with Erin. Their dream is to ride out west someday on a pair of Harleys.
Rob Miller - Children's Pastor
Rob is a native of Valley City, Ohio, where frog jumping rules! He then hopped down to Columbia Bible College in Columbia, South Carolina, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Bible and Christian Education. And even more importantly, is where he met a real peach of a gal, Loretta (yes, she is from Georgia), whom he married.
Loretta and Rob have four children: Hannah, Gilbert, Caitlin and Caleb who bring great joy and adventure to their lives. The Millers have claimed Iverson Park as their very own and love to spend much time there in the summer splashing around in the water; hiking; and climbing all over the playground equipment.
